Corn Hits Record High Near $8 a Bushel

Corn jumped to new highs today as flooding in the Midwest damaged the crop. Corn surged 3.5 percent to a high of $7.91 a bushel in early morning trading. Soybeans, wheat and rice also made gains.

Corn prices hit record highs today trading as high as $7.03 a bushel in the July futures contract. Weather concerns and continued strong demand in Asia have propelled corn prices in the past week.
